Galaxia was designed using the Aubrielle and Hand Spray collections by RJR Fabrics. It really is a spectacular quilt. Although the stars look very complicated but I have broken it down as best as I can to make it a little easier. Although in contains a lot of Y seams which could not be eliminated, with a little patience and by referring to my new Quilt Piecing Techniques page on the web site you will learn how to make them with precision.

This quilt reminded me of the south west states with its colorations and shapes. It is tempate pieced and made entirely of 12 1/2" blocks using the Shadow Play collection by Maywood Studio. Should you need to make it large for a King quilt, just add a black border around it and some fancy quilting.

As it's name suggests, this quilt tends to capture the attention of it's viewer. It is a template pieced quilt with just a little applique for the stems and leaves of the floral blocks.Since it only uses 6 colored fabrics plus background, it is easy to change the colors of the quilt to suit any room decor. You could use printed fabrics for the flowers and leaves to make an interesting change to this piece. You could even use up some of your stash by using mixed greens for the leaves and stems and make all the flowers in different colors/prints for an eclectic look.
